AnnMarie Howell is an associate attorney at Sweeney Mason LLP, representing clients in both litigation and transactional matters. She focuses on delivering practical, results-driven solutions and providing counsel tailored to each client’s goals.

AnnMarie earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2025, graduating cum laude. AnnMarie was one of only eight graduates of Santa Clara Law’s 2025 graduating class to be awarded the Deans’ Outstanding Leadership Award. The Outstanding Leadership Award is awarded to graduates in recognition of their embodiment of Santa Clara Law’s mission of leadership and hard work on behalf of their classmates, clients, and communities, and for their example of kindness, respect, ethics, and professionalism. While at Santa Clara Law, AnnMarie earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her work in representing startup clients in Santa Clara Law’s Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic. AnnMarie is a member of the Order of the Coif, a national honors society for law school graduates.

Prior to joining Sweeney Mason, AnnMarie clerked for the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office in San Jose and the Superior Court of Santa Clara County. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, graduating cum laude, and competed on the UCSD Cross Country and Track & Field teams in the 2017 fall and 2018 spring seasons.

AnnMarie is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. She lives in San Jose and is an active parishioner of St. Christopher’s Parish. She is an avid Bay Area sports fan, especially of the San Francisco Giants, and enjoys the outdoors, exploring along the Northern California Coast, and spending time with her family.
